During my recent stay at Western Plains Tourist Park in Dubbo, I encountered a mix of experiences that ultimately painted a rather disappointing picture of this destination. While the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, the overall state of the park left much to be desired. The accommodation was basic and far removed from the serene escape I had hoped for. Despite boasting a garden with a terrace and a kitchenette, my cabin felt more like a temporary shelter than a cozy retreat. The shared amenities showed significant wear, with unkempt bathrooms and laundry areas that could use far more regular attention. The park's convenient proximity to local shops and eateries was a highlight, particularly after a long day exploring the nearby zoo with friends. Considering the cleanliness issues and lack of proper maintenance, it’s safe to say that I wouldn’t recommend this location for families seeking a safe and comfortable stay. In summary, while Western Plains Tourist Park provides basic accommodation at an affordable price, travelers should prepare for a less-than-ideal experience if cleanliness and comfort are high on their agenda. If you’re particularly discerning about lodging, it might be best to explore other options nearby.
